Nantucket Community Sailing is a nonprofit offering one- and two-week youth sailing programs for ages 4–18 at Polpis Harbor and Jetties Beach, with classes for beginner through advanced sailors. Guppies introduces ages 4–5 to water safety and basic sailing concepts through games on land and water; Jetties Sailing Club takes intermediate sailors ages 11–18 recreationally around Nantucket Harbor in Rhodes 19s, 420s, IODs and J70s; and the All-Island Opti Race Team trains motivated ages 9–15 who have mastered the fundamentals and want to race. Registration is online or in season at the Jetties Sailing Center.

They gave me a test asked me a few questions took my money and let me and my mom go sailing. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. The equipment was very well maintained and I did not feel like there were any dumb rules or inconveniencing policies. Will definitely rent here every time I bring a friend who hasn’t sailed to the island.
