Bass River Yacht Club, founded in 1931 in South Yarmouth, runs an accredited youth sailing program on Bass River and Nantucket Sound. Learn to Sail is the entry class covering sailing basics in a structured, supervised setting, while Beginner 420 takes sailors who have outgrown the Opti class by size, age or skill onto two-person 420s. Classes meet Monday through Friday, 8:30am–12:00pm, so this is a half-day morning program; a Junior Yacht Club adds organized social activities on Tuesdays.

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. The view is amazing from here, sailing right off from the dock through the river and onto the ocean is an experience I will not easily forget.
