For camp operators
Help for camp operators
Short answers to the questions operators ask most, in the order most people need them. Each one says where the button is and what happens when you press it.
Claim your listing and sign in
How do I claim my listing and sign in?
Claiming is free. It makes the listing yours to edit, and families see a Verified by operator mark on it.
- Step 1: Find your camp on the claim page, or open its listing and press Claim this listing.
- Step 2: Sign in, or create an account with your email and a password. You can also sign in with Google. Claims are tied to your account, so you can follow them on My camps.
- Step 3: Choose how to show you run the camp. An email address at your camp's own website domain is fastest: confirming from the link we send approves you right away. You can also ask for a call to the phone number on the listing, or send a license, insurance certificate or ACA accreditation for review, which takes about two business days.
- Step 4: Once you're approved, the listing shows under My camps, ready to edit, and we email you.
Can't find the confirmation email? Check the spam or junk folder, and any quarantine your email security service keeps. An expired link opens a page where you can ask for a new one.
More than one location
Use Add more locations on My camps. The claim form offers the other listings on your website's domain and lets you add locations we don't list yet. A request that covers more than one location is decided by a person, and we email you when it's done.
If we set up your listings for you
We sometimes connect listings to your email address before you have an account. Create your account with that exact address and we email you a link. It works once and for 7 days, and clicking it puts the listings in My camps. Signing in with Google at that address connects them straight away, as long as your account has no password. Lost the email? Sign in and press Email me the link again on My camps.
Edit your listing
How do I change what my listing says?
- Step 1: On My camps, press Edit listing beside the listing.
- Step 2: Change what you need in The basics, Contact, Who it's for, Activities and Features. On this page jumps to each part.
- Step 3: Press Save changes. On a wide screen it sits beside the form; on a phone it stays at the bottom of the screen.
Social media, the promotion, your logo, photos, and camps, classes and care save on their own as you add or change them. Save changes saves the rest.
- What you enter is treated as stated by you and comes before anything we read from your website. Once a listing is yours, our research stops updating it, so a field you leave blank stays blank until you fill it in.
- Shown above your listing's name, under Activities, picks which of your activities labels the listing. Automatic uses the first one.
- To change the street address, tell us through feedback: we place locations on the map by hand. A Map note beside the address can say which entrance to use or where to park.
- Accreditations such as ACA are checked by us, so you can't tick them yourself. Ask for one in Accreditations and licenses, with proof.
Programs, sections and order
How do I add my camps, classes and care, and arrange them?
Your page has up to three tables: Camps, which run once on set dates, Classes, which repeat, and Before and after school care.
Add or change a program
- Step 1: In your listing's editor, go to Add a camp, class or care program at the bottom of the page.
- Step 2: Pick Camp, Class or program, or Before and after school care. A camp needs a start and end date; a class or care program can leave its dates blank.
- Step 3: Fill in what applies, such as times, ages, prices, availability and the registration link, and press the button under the form. It goes on your listing straight away.
To change a program, press its Edit icon, then Save changes. The Remove icon asks first, because a removal can't be undone.
Group programs under sections
Sections are optional headings you write, such as First-time enrollment, shown on your page above the programs in them, each with a short note if you like. Each table has its own, and its Sections box appears once the table has a program.
- Step 1: Press + Add a section. Give it a heading of up to 60 characters and, if you like, a note of up to 280.
- Step 2: Choose each program's section from the Section menu on its row. It saves as soon as you choose.
A table can have up to 12 sections. Deleting a section keeps its programs on your page, outside any section. On your page each section shows its first 3 programs, with a button to show the rest.
Put them in order
- Drag a section by its grip, or use its Move up and Move down arrows.
- Inside a section, drag a program by its grip, or use its arrows. Back to date order puts that section back in date order.
- Programs in no section come last, under Other camp sessions, Other classes or Other care programs.
- A table with no sections stays in date order.
Photos and logo
How do I add my logo and photos?
Your logo
- In the editor's Logo panel, drop an image on the box or choose one: PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF, under 5MB. A square image with a bit of padding looks best.
- Or paste a link to your logo image and press Use this link. We save a copy, so your logo keeps working if that link changes.
- Your logo shows on your listing and on every search result card. Until you add one, cards show your first gallery photo, or with no photos, a picture you can change under Card picture when you have no logo.
Your photos
- Add up to 12 photos in the Photo gallery panel. They go live as soon as you upload them.
- Photos must be JPG, PNG or WebP and at least 800 by 600 pixels, with the long side no more than 3 times the short side. Big photos are resized for you, and the location a phone saves inside a photo is removed.
- Show your camp: your facility, activities and staff. No flyers, logos, screenshots, stock photos or text-heavy graphics, and only photos you have the right to publish, including a parent's permission for any child who can be recognized.
- A caption is optional, up to 120 characters. Type it under the photo and it saves when you click away.
- Press the × on a photo to remove it. A photo marked Removed by our team isn't shown to families, and it counts toward your 12 until you delete it.
Promotions
How do I offer families a discount?
- Step 1: In the editor's Promotion panel, fill in What it gives. A Promo code, Who it is for and a Last day are optional.
- Step 2: Press Save promotion. Remove promotion takes it off.
- The offer shows on your listing and in search results, and parents can find it with the Has a promo filter.
- A code stays hidden until a parent presses Show code, so other sites can't copy it from the page. Each press counts in your activity report as a promo code reveal.
- It stops showing after its last day.
- To put one promotion on several listings at once, use Edit several listings.
Many listings and auto fill
How do I update many listings at once, or fill one in from a file?
Edit several listings
With two or more listings, My camps links to Edit several listings. It works two ways.
- Change something on many listings: choose the listings, then what to change. That can be a detail they share (short description, website, email, phone, daily hours, ages or a social profile), a promotion, or exact words to replace in their descriptions. Press Review changes.
- Use a spreadsheet: download your listings, one row each, or your camp weeks, one row per week with dates, prices, the registration link and its section. Change only the cells you want in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets, save it as CSV and upload it. Keep the id and row_version columns as they are.
- In a spreadsheet, a blank cell keeps what the listing says; to remove a value, type CLEAR in its cell. Nothing is ever deleted, listings and weeks left out of the file aren't touched, and a listing changed since you downloaded the file is left unticked for you to check.
Either way, you see every change, old value and new, each with its own tick, and nothing is saved until you press Save. After saving, Undo these changes puts every value back.
Auto fill from a file
- Step 1: Open the listing's editor, or press Auto fill beside it on My camps.
- Step 2: Drop a brochure, schedule, price list or flyer on the Auto fill box: PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CSV, a text file or a photo, under 4MB.
- Step 3: We show what the file states and the words it came from. Untick anything that's wrong.
- Step 4: Put ticked details into the form fills the form, marked Auto filled. Check those, then press Save changes. Camps, classes and care you tick go on your listing when you press Add ticked sessions, and you can edit or remove them after.
Each account gets 3 auto fills a month, and 5 more for each listing on Plus, shared across your listings. They start again at the beginning of each month. We send the file to our AI provider to read it and don't keep a copy.
Activity reports
How do I see how my listing is doing?
- My camps shows how your listings are doing: listing views, clicks to you (your website, registration, phone, email, directions and social profiles) and register clicks. Pick the period: last 7 days, last 30 days, last 90 days or all time.
- With more than one listing, a table shows each one. Press Activity beside a listing to see it day by day.
- Download CSV gives the same counts as a spreadsheet, one row per listing per day.
- Presses of Show code on your promotion are counted on their own, as promo code reveals.
- The note under the report says exactly what is counted and what is left out.
Plans, the founding offer and billing
What do plans cost, and what does the founding offer include?
The founding offer
Every listing you claim is Featured, with everything in Plus, free through August 31, 2027: listings claimed now and listings you claim before then. There's nothing to pay and no card needed, and families see the listing marked Featured.
In the 30 days before the offer ends, your dashboard lets you keep any listing on Plus or Featured, monthly or yearly. We email you 30 days and 7 days before the end. A listing you don't choose goes back to Free, with nothing to pay.
Free, Plus and Featured
Every claimed listing is free and stays free. Plus and Featured are upgrades you choose listing by listing, and every other listing stays Free. Plans and pricing lists what each one includes.
- Plus is $19 a month for your first listing, then $10 each for listings 2 to 19, $8 each for listings 20 to 49 and $6 each for listings 50 and up.
- Featured is an add-on to Plus: $30 a month on top for your first listing, then $25, $20 and $15 each on the same steps. Your first listing with both is $49 a month.
- Paying yearly gives every listing 2 months free: a year costs what 10 months would.
- No plan buys a higher place among the regular results. A paid Featured listing is marked Sponsored, and a free one is marked Featured.
Billing
- When a listing can be upgraded, its card on My camps offers Upgrade to Plus or Add to your plan, and Feature. The plan panel shows the total, listing by listing, before you pay.
- Your plan renews every month or every year until you stop it. We email the date and amount before each renewal: 7 days ahead for monthly and 30 days ahead for yearly.
- Add a listing and you pay now for the days left in the current period. Take one out and it keeps what you paid for until the renewal.
- Stop renewing from your dashboard at any time. What you paid for runs to the end of the period, and nothing is refunded for part of one. Receipts come by email, and your card and invoices are on your dashboard.
A paused website link
Why is my website link paused, and how do I fix it?
When we check a camp's website and it shows an error page, sends visitors to an unrelated site or shows content unrelated to the camp, we pause the link to it. Your listing stays up. Its page tells parents the link is paused and sends them to your phone or email instead. Registration links on that website pause too, and so does your promotion. Links to other sites, such as a registration platform, stay.
- Step 1: My camps shows a Website link paused notice on the listing, with what we saw and on what day.
- Step 2: Fix the website. If your site has moved to a new address, change the Website in your listing's editor.
- Step 3: Press Ask us to re-check on the notice. We read the site again and lift the pause once it shows your camp's own site.
If the listing has no phone or email, add one in Edit listing so parents can still reach you.
Contact us
How do I reach a person?
- Signed in, use Need a hand? on Account information. We reply to your account's email.
- Or write to admin@usakidcamp.com, or use the contact page. Include the listing's name or link so we can find it right away.
- A real person reads everything, and we try to reply within two business days.
