McCormick YMCA
Private
McCormick YMCA is a branch of the nonprofit YMCA of Metro Chicago at 1834 N. Lawndale Ave. in Chicago, and one of more than fifteen Y sites running Y Summer Camp. Traditional camp days include an opening circle, snack, physical activity, experiential learning, lunch, choice time and a closing circle, often with swimming and on-site or off-site field trips; specialty camps cover STEAM topics such as tinkering, robotics, cooking and detective work, and sports and aquatics camps follow their own curriculums. Camp runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with before care (7-9 a.m.) and after care (4-6 p.m.) included at no extra cost; camps are ACA-accredited, financial assistance and CCAP are accepted, and an inclusion team supports campers with disabilities.

Powered by GoogleVery busy most peak hours. Lots of kids use the facility (as expected). Kids will sit on gym equipment chatting instead of working out though. Gym equipment is pretty old. Only two studios and if there are classes you cant use them. Great place for someone who has kids or is on a budget however.
This place sucks hard. They CONSTANTLY schedule impromptu pool closures and special events that prevent paying members from using it, without adhering to their own aquatics schedule. They claim to email updates and notifications, but if you have a couples account, good luck ever getting them on 2 different email addresses. Today an individual was sleeping lengthwise on a locker room bench and the staff stared blankly at me when I complained and proceeded to do nothing about it. Shitty organization with shitty hours and management.
So far I like this YMCA. It's a really nice diverse facility with friendly staff and a really nice locker room for women. The only negative thing I have to say is the temperature of the pool was freezing. There's no way it should be that cold, in the evening, as it's still winter time. This is the only location I've been to so far with a freezing cold pool. I could barely swim laps because I had goosebumps from being so cold. Please warm it up a bit. 🙏🏽
I enjoy the programs they have and how well mainted the pool is, I wish they had more equipment but overall everything is great. The front desk staff are friendly and very helpful.
The swimming pool is really great - one big and one small. The restroom / shower / changing area is very clean.
