Birchwood Recreation Center is a Palatine Park District facility that hosts the district's Birchwood Jr Day Camp for ages 7-8 and Birchwood Sr Day Camp for ages 9-11. Camp runs Monday-Friday, 9:00am-3:00pm, in two-week sessions across the summer, and campers bring a lunch, sunscreen and swimsuit every day. Fees are set separately for in-district and out-of-district families (Jr Day Camp was $306 in-district, $382 out-of-district per session), and the park district operates a scholarship program for families who need help with fees.

★John Bryan IIIIf you care about your children’s safety do not sign them up for any classes. My nephew was sent out into the lobby by himself (completely isolated from anyone else including any adults) after he started crying. He is six years old and this was his first time out since Covid. Parents are told they are not allowed to stay due to Covid. This is completely unacceptable, do not trust your children in the care of these people. This is 100% child endangerment. We have contacted higher ups within the organization and want answers. This was for their karate class.
