Lake View YMCA is a branch of the nonprofit YMCA of Metro Chicago at 3333 N. Marshfield Ave. in Chicago, and one of more than fifteen Y sites running Y Summer Camp. Traditional camp days include an opening circle, snack, physical activity, experiential learning, lunch, choice time and a closing circle, often with swimming and on-site or off-site field trips; specialty camps cover STEAM topics such as tinkering, robotics, cooking and detective work, and sports and aquatics camps follow their own curriculums. Camp runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with before care (7-9 a.m.) and after care (4-6 p.m.) included at no extra cost; camps are ACA-accredited, financial assistance and CCAP are accepted, and an inclusion team supports campers with disabilities.

★JayCardio equipment is ALWAYS broken! I swear there is exactly 1 working non-recumbent stationary bike in this whole facility at any point in time. Not worth the monthly fee unless you show up each time with 3 potential backup workouts to try…. And even then, might not be able to workout due to assorted broken equipment or weekday night crowds. Been an issue for some time but I’ve finally had enough, canceling my membership.

I trust all of the woman staff with my children and I always feel safe and comforted knowing my kids are at the Y. This helps me disconnect from being a mom and ability to work ok my physical and mental strength.

★★★★Mystique Divine IvoryI haven't explored the entire facility because I'm a swimmer, but so far so good. I wish the pool was bigger since there's a lot of people who lap swim, but it's cool. It works. The restrooms should be cleaned more often. They weren't in the best shape when I got there. The staff was friendly and helpful aside from some weird guy at the desk. (To the left of entrance where I got my keycard.) Don't fake smile at people man. The weird half smile then goes back to the resting B-word face. Why? It's off-putting and makes me uncomfortable. Why do y'all do that? Employees and guests alike. It's WEIRD. Stoppit. Lol. Thanks.
★JoeGot a membership expecting a normal YMCA experience (i.e., not an equinox experience), but even then I have to say it’s disappointing. Cockroaches observed in the men’s locker room - really really gross! Broken fitness machines persist - Peloton bikes have been out of service for multiple months, and other aerobic equipment is broken in the “aerobics studio.” Seems like a lack of willingness to invest in the member experience. Might be good for childcare, I don’t know, but if you’re looking for a gym I would recommend you spend $50/month individual membership fee elsewhere.
