'Z' Frank Apachi Day Camp is a JCC Chicago day camp on a 10-acre campus in Northbrook, Illinois, serving children from age 4 through 7th grade plus a Counselor-in-Training programme for 8th-10th graders. Campers rotate through sports, arts and crafts, gaga, drama, dance, cooking, pottery, music, martial arts, rock climbing, an adventure tree, boating and STEAM projects, taught by professional specialty staff and supplemented by weekly visiting entertainers and artists-in-residence. Swimming happens twice a day - one instructional session using the Jeff Ellis Learn-to-Swim programme and one free swim - in two large heated outdoor pools, with campers tested and placed by skill level. Camp runs 9:30am-3:30pm in four-week and eight-week sessions, with before care from 7:30am and after care to 5:30pm for an additional fee, bus transportation for families inside designated boundaries, a full-time registered nurse on site, a wellness team of mental health and special education staff, and Shabbat celebrations, Israel programming and Maccabi games as part of camp life.

Wonderful facility with pool, playground, sports and even paddle boats. The facilities have been updated with ADA compliance, more showers and better finishes.
So disappointed with our experience with Apachi. This used to be a top-notch day camp. Last summer we had serious bussing safety as well as convenience issues that remained unaddressed, including having the buses at dangerously high temperatures. The icing on the cake was when the camp repeatedly refused to refund our $500 deposit after COVID-19 arose and they canceled the session.
Went here in the 90s so glad to see it has kept up with the times when msny similar places could not or would not. Would send my own kids if I had any thanks for keeping a place of so many happy memories alive.
Always A fun time at camp. Something new every day and the best staff in town.
