The Sodus Bay Junior Sailing Association is a nonprofit youth sailing camp on Great Sodus Bay, serving ages 7-18 across seven weeks of weekly sessions from late June to mid-August at $410 per week. Sailors are placed by age, skill and confidence: Learn to Sail Opti (7-13), Learn to Sail Laser/420 (11-18), Learn to Race Opti (8-14) and Laser/420 (12-18), a Travel Race Team competing at interclub regattas in two three-week sessions, and Adventure Sail (13-18) for non-competitive sailing on bigger boats. I-SAIL is a small specialized session for sailors ages 8-18 on the autism spectrum, taught by staff trained in the Brendan Sailing approach. Curricula follow US Sailing standards, class caps run from 6 to 24 sailors, and need-based 'sailorships' are available, including for Wayne County residents.
