Skaneateles Sailing Club runs a junior sailing program for children ages 8-18 on Skaneateles Lake, teaching boat and water safety, parts of the boat, knots and lines, boat handling and wind awareness under supervised instruction. Juniors sail Lasers, Optimists, Open Bics and Dewitt Dinghies, with rig options sized to the sailor; larger Flying Scots are used for juniors whose physical limitations don't suit small dinghies. This is a short evening session rather than a day camp - the posted program ran one week, 4pm to 8pm nightly - and it is open only to members, members' children and relatives.
The practical details
We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Skaneateles Sailing Club directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

Great club for beginners or experienced sailors
Well run, great members and nice location. Only open to members and by invitation, so get in touch with them if you're interested.
February 2015, snowed in and waiting for the season to start. Beautiful spot in all seasons
A true sailing club and supportive of racing.
