Kentucky 4-H Camps

Camp Triangle Adventure, formerly Triangle D, is the American Diabetes Association's Northern Illinois overnight camp for children aged 9-17 living with diabetes, held at YMCA Camp Duncan in Ingleside, Illinois with transportation provided from Chicago. Campers spend the week in a woodland setting doing crafts, boating, swimming, team-building and ropes courses while developing diabetes self-management skills covering eating plans, physical activity, emotional wellbeing and blood glucose monitoring. All health professionals working at ADA camps are licensed in the state where the camp is held, and a team of clinicians provides round-the-clock care; the camp's medical director is a paediatric endocrinologist at Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. Families choose between a full price and an ADA Sponsored price that subsidises 50% of the cost, with additional financial assistance available - the ADA states nearly half its families receive assistance and that no child is turned away because of cost.
