Cabrillo Beach Yacht Club runs a summer sailing camp on the outer Los Angeles Harbor in San Pedro, with weekly camps beginning in June and finishing at the end of August. Classes range from beginner to advanced and serve ages 8 to 18. This is a full-day camp and it is open to any youth who wants to learn to sail, not just club members; campers must be confident swimmers and take a swim test on the first day.

★★★★★KenWe aren’t members of the yacht club but the marina is a great place to walk. Looking at the boats and wildlife makes for pleasant exercise. The sea lions and harbor seals are usually out playing about 730am. It is also a very safe place to walk. There is ample security and parking.

There's a pier out back in the Hurricane Gulch (not really hurricane) and the view from there is great. At the right time of year, it could even serve as a romantic sunset for some time alone with another. Honestly, it's not as if I couldn't go without it, it's just absolutely transformed my life. Me and my friends love sailing here, and it's an amazing place.
