Half-day summer swim camp at Bear Paddle's indoor 90-degree pool in Niles, built around a daily 30-minute certified swim lesson, 30 minutes of supervised free swim, and STEM crafts and group games designed by a licensed elementary teacher. Camp runs Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at $250 per child per week, with an optional extension to 3:00 p.m. for $100 more; families book one week or several across the summer (Jun 8-12 through Aug 17-21 at this location). Open to children age 4 and up who are potty trained and can change and use the restroom on their own; attendance is limited to families enrolled in a Bear Paddle swim package, though a non-enrolled friend age 4+ with some lesson experience may attend when accompanied by a family member. Each week includes an in-water skill assessment, a written progress report and Progress Patch rewards.

★★David HoangWhen we first started going to this place it was clean and the staff seem to enjoy working at this location. Recently, there have been many staffing changes and it appears new management as well. How can students stay consistent, if there is a new instructor each week. There is no toilet paper, no soap in the bathroom, hair in the drains in the pool area, and the utility room was left open for anyone to walk in. I don’t normally like to put in a bad review but the owner needs to come to this facility and see all the bacteria and mold sitting around. In my opinion it’s a lawsuit waiting to happen with all the wet spots in the entire facility . Instead of having 2 instructors in each lane, they need to have 1 staffer dedicated to clean and maintain the facility. Instructors need to call out their students louder for lessons as one side doesn’t have benches.

We have tried another school in the area but after weeks of going to the class it seemed like there was no to little progress. After coming to bear paddle and taking the class with coach Anthony there was already a big difference. With coach Anthony’s approach our son felt comfortable putting his whole face in the water which started his swimming jurney to be enjoyable. Since then he has advanced to different levels and loves going swimming there.
