Alamitos Bay Yacht Club's junior sailing program in Long Beach offers year-round classes plus a summer session, sailing Naples Sabots, Optimist dinghies, FJs and Lasers on Alamitos Bay. Summer sailing camp is sold by the week for ages 6 to 15 and all sailing equipment is provided; campers must be able to swim 20 feet in the marina while wearing a life jacket. Families enrolling in multiple weeks receive a multi-camp discount.

The space feels classic and well suited for gatherings. Parking is limited and primarily for members, but there’s a public parking lot across the street, which is convenient. The pay station can be a little tricky when adding more time — just keep pressing “1” and it will extend your parking. Overall, it’s a nice location with scenic views and a warm atmosphere for special occasions.
