Young Buckets Academy is a basketball training academy in Lake Forest, founded in 2015 by Andres Marmolejo, offering year-round training and tournament play rather than a camp program. Its own site lists fundamentals, shooting mechanics, elite skills, private and team training, booked as single sessions ($50), five-session packs ($200) or ten weeks of unlimited training ($1,000) through an online player portal. Training is pitched at players aiming for varsity and collegiate levels, though the site states there are no prerequisites and all skill levels are accepted. No summer camp program appears on the operator's site.

Powered by GoogleCoach Dre has done an amazing job grooming my daughters. He knows when to push because he takes the time to get to know them on a personal level. His willingness to get them out of their comfort zone continues to show up. Coach has a very good basketball IQ and knowledge that is teachable. I highly recommend any newcomers to checkout his academy.
Coach Dre is absolutely amazing! We have been a part of his program for about two years now, and we use him for one on one training as well as playing on his travel team in tournaments. His communication is great, the team environment is nothing but positive, and he has built confidence in our daughter that we can not find elsewhere. Not only does he bring her the skills that she needs to improve her game (shooting and amazing footwork!) and make her a better player, he brings the positive reinforcement to be a better teammate and person. His passion and love for basketball and the players shines. He's not just a coach, but a mentor. I wish we could have found him sooner, but plan to continue having him coach and guide our daughter through college! She calls him a "basketball therapist mixed with legend"! Highly recommended!!
Coach Andres Marmolejo, “Dre” … took on Sam and Ellie in 5th Grade. Out of shape, very little skill, no IQ and no experience. They did have a work ethic and a love for basketball. Coach Dre worked with them, held them accountable, gave them opportunities, exposed them to older, better players and when the time was right, put them in game situation's. His philosophy of “foundation building” and focusing on step-by-step progression of skill development aligned with our families values. Both Sam and Ellie are currently playing AAU, School and Feeder Basketball. They are on a trajectory for High School Varsity Basketball. Which is both of their goals. I HIGHLY recommend Coach Dre …. BUT only if you value 360 degree development that takes time … if you expect quick results without honest effort, Coach Dre is not the guy for you.
Coach Dre's basketball program is simply exceptional. His passion, expertise, and dedication to the sport shine through in every session. He has a unique ability to connect with each athlete, helping them to not only improve their skills but also to grow in confidence and teamwork. The drills are challenging yet fun, and I've seen a tremendous improvement in my game. Highly recommend to anyone looking to take their game to the next level.
We love this basketball program! They focus on developing the individual players, not just teams. Coach Andres is exceptional at providing top-notch training, play-making and translating skills into game play. He's a master at diagnosing what can help each player maximize their skills and talents. He cares about the players - something you don't get at cookie-cutter programs. There is a family atmosphere and we know the boys are learning both basketball and life skills.
