Powered by GoogleI’m happy to say that the Wendel D Ley YMCA is an excellent place to accomplish your fitness goals and intermingle with like minded people. The classes keep me motivated and the staff is always happy b
I joined this Y the day after I retired after working over 35 years because I wanted to stay active and in contact with people. From day one, I was greeted with open arms! The staff is so friendly and there is a great camaraderie among the members. I love the exercise classes for seniors! Priscilla and JeNae are excellent instructors!
I love how the staff is very friendly, & welcoming while building first name basis relationships with you over the years of them seeing you go to their gym, & greet you, & also ask how your doing! This is a Y that’s gets to know you more & more over time, the more you visit the gym & keep things cordial with the staff, the same way they would with you!
My son now attends the early learning child care. I'm blessed to say he has learned so much and continues to learn. The staff is great, they are always smiles and i can honestly say i never hear anyone yelling at any children. The communication is great between the staff and any parent. I always see and have experienced the teachers speaking to us and giving us updates on our child's day and improvements he had done. They also help with potty training, however you still have to stay on top of it at home. But they are great with helping out and not just pushing it aside like some schools or daycare. My son now wakes up and rushes us out the house just to go to school. Such a great feeling to have him want to go instead of not wanting to go and being scared. He loves his teacher he is always talking about her. Im extremely happy with making the choice to come here. As far as the gym i love the fact they are closed on Sundays as it's a Christian based facility and always has been. The gym is clean, a little outdated on some of the equipment but it all works the same. I have never had a problem with this place. I love it.
KEEP YOUR CHILD AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! I signed my son up to participate in the YMCA’s youth basketball league. Unfortunately, the experience was horrible. At this particular location, nothing is organized. The first day of practice no one knew who was coaching the team and practice got rescheduled. At the first game, the coached never showed forcing someone else to step in who had no knowledge of the players. The receptionist at the front desk never knew what was going on at the facility and communicated incorrect information. Save your money and save your time. It’s not worth the headache. Update: All in all I have since seen improvement at this location. Still not perfect but they are making strides.
