My 11 y/o daughter attended a week long camp here and had an awesome time! She said the staff was amazing, the food was delicious and the activities they did were a lot of fun! This was her first sleep away camp experience and I'm so glad it was positive for her on every level, she wants to go back every summer now and even become a counselor one day 😀

I finally got to live my childhood dream of going to summer camp at the Michigan Out-of-Doors Youth Camp with my merry band of equally adventurous friends. And let me tell you, it was everything I imagined and more! First off, the food. Oh man, the food! Forget those horror stories about camp grub—this place served up delicious meals that would make Gordon Ramsay weep tears of joy. I’m still dreaming about those pancakes. They were fluffier than a cloud made of marshmallows! The staff? Friendly doesn't even begin to cover it. These folks were like the Avengers of hospitality. They made sure everyone felt welcome, from the tiniest tots to the oldest kids-at-heart (yours truly). I’m pretty sure they were actual superheroes in disguise. Now, let's talk activities. The archery course was a blast! With a variety of targets spread out in the woods, I got to channel my inner Robin Hood as I trekked through the forest, aiming at everything from traditional bullseyes to sneaky woodland critters. I managed to hit the target (sometimes even the bullseye!) and only lost a few arrows in the process. The beach by the lake was pure magic. Whether we were fishing, boating, or just lounging around, it was the perfect spot to soak up some sun and enjoy the great outdoors. I even caught a fish—well, okay, it was more like the fish caught me, but we’ll call it a win. And then there was the firepit on the lake. Picture this: a stunning sunset, crackling fire, and the smell of s'mores wafting through the air. It was the stuff campfire stories are made of. We sang songs, roasted marshmallows, and laughed until our bellies hurt. Absolute perfection. If you’re a grown-up longing for the camp experience you never had or just looking for an incredible place to send your kids, Michigan Out-of-Doors Youth Camp is the place to be. I left with a full heart, a belly full of great food, and a head full of fantastic memories. Can’t wait to come back next summer! 🌲🏹🎣🔥

I attended the Great Lakes Herb Faire here. The cabins are comfortable and have power. The bathrooms are very nice. The grounds are pretty tough for a disabled folks. My powerchair couldn't handle the sandy soil and long grass. They rented a golf cart for me and that worked out great.

Of course I was not the one who went, dropped off my ten year old nephew on Sunday, his mother picked him up on Friday. He said it was the best time ever, fishing, shooting a bow and 22 rifle, canoeing. The counselors were great, he did not have a bad thing to say about the camp.I asked if he got enough to eat, he said "they stuffed me like a Turkey". He definitely wants to go back next year.

My daughter just came home from a week at this camp and she was sad to leave. she can not stop talking about how much fun she had, how many new friends she made and how much she has learned. She said hands down she will return next year and for years to come. She has attended other camps including pricey fancy ones and this is the camp she wants to go back to. To me this also says so much about the program and the staff! Great job to all the amazing people who spend so much time making these kids week at camp so memorable and amazing!
