Camp Birkett is the Ann Arbor YMCA's traditional day camp for ages 5-11, on the shores of Silver Lake in Pinckney, with more than a century of history. Camp runs a full day, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and each week campers canoe, swim, shoot archery, do arts and crafts, sports, theater and outdoor education, using a lake-view lodge, athletic field, gaga pit, nature cabin, archery range and waterfront. Bus transportation from an Ann Arbor elementary school is available for $40 to $55; a full-day session runs about $360.
