Camp Pa-Wa-Pi is a YMCA outdoor day camp on 52 acres of woodland and riverfront along the Red Cedar River just east of Williamston, serving children ages 5-11. Campers canoe and kayak the river, climb and zip line, shoot archery, play gaga ball and disc golf, run a 200-foot slip-n-slide and work through a low-ropes course, along with arts and crafts, fort building and nature activities. Sessions are booked by the week through the YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing, online, by phone or at any Y location.

Does this camp still exist 40+ years later? It was easy to look up since I knew the song and obviously, since it's stuck with me all these years this camp only brings back good memories. I don't know if the YMCA was in charge of it back then, but I looked at the pictures and outside of the Rock-Climbing Walls and Zip Lines, it doesn't look like it has changed much. The archery field and canoeing look just like I remembered it when I was kid. If the staff is still as good as it was in the 70's/80's, this place is wonderful!

Canoeing, archery, rock climbing, fire building, zip lining, nature walks, swimming, arts and crafts, skits... it's a blast!
