Camp Shiawassee is the Shiawassee Family YMCA's outdoor day camp on 181 acres in Bancroft, and the only state-accredited summer camp in Shiawassee County. Campers ages 5-13 canoe, shoot archery and the BB gun range, fish, make crafts and slide the camp's 'Black Hole.' The camp day runs 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with breakfast and lunch provided, and drop-off and pick-up are at Emerson Elementary School in Owosso. Sessions run weekly from early June through mid-August; registration is done in person at the Shiawassee Family YMCA with a $25 weekly deposit.
