Kidz Kabaret, a Naperville nonprofit youth theatre, runs summer theater camps in which campers build a “kabaret” as an ensemble from initial concept to final performance, taking on roles both onstage and backstage. Camps are split by grade: a half-day camp for grades K–3 meeting 9:00–11:30am, and a full-day camp for grades 2–8 meeting 9:00am–2:00pm (a 9:00am–4:00pm option is also listed for 2026). Summer sessions begin in late June, and the theatre also stages youth productions such as The Music Man Jr.

He was able to choose from several plays and he chose Harry Potter. Kidz Kabaret did a fantastic job from beginning to end! Great communication and answering all my questions, preparing the script and details accordingly based on the number of kids, it was a very clean open space, and most of all, the staff was extremely helpful and kind! Madison, Faith and Katie were an awesome team who helped guide the kids through their rehearsals and performance, kept them engaged and encouraged, and proactively helped me a lot with setup and cleanup! Although it may be a pretty short time for the kids to learn their lines and dances, they all tried hard and did so well! We parents were all very impressed! It gets kids a bit out of their comfort zone but in a safe intimate space and (in my opinion) also helps with performance anxiety, which my kids have all had before. Best of all, it’s a unique birthday idea and the kids all had so much FUN up there on stage in costume!Thank you, Kidz Kabaret for making this a birthday my son will never forget! 10/10 recommend!🤩🎭🎬✨
