My children have been involved with the Milwaukee chapter of CYT Chicago since 2019 (one) and 2023 (the other). I can't think of a better environment for my children to be spending their time. Learning amazing skills - I'm certain my 11 year old could now give a speech in front of a full football stadium without flinching - all while keeping the focus on Jesus Christ. I love CYT!

I can say with confidence that I would not be who I am today without CYT. I was involved for four years throughout high school, and my journey shaped and formed me in incredibly significant ways. I was challenged in my faith, stretched in my abilities and blessed with friendships. This organization is not perfect, and is not run by perfect people––but if that's our expectation, we will be forever dissatisfied. CYT was an avenue for me to learn about myself and navigate the tough growing-up years surrounded by an awesome community of people. I still count some of my directors as people who had a direct impact on my walk with Christ. Even the difficult aspects of this season stretched me in ways that drew me closer to God. I'm forever grateful for my time in CYT!

When my 2 kids were younger they both participated in several summer camps with CYT at different churches in the Naperville area. As a working mom, the camp was a great option for extended day activity and to learn during the summer. Both kids had the opportunity to have speaking lines and or vocal solos in the final camp showcases. My daughter now takes classes and auditions for shows during the school year. She enjoys the friends she meets, the skills she's learning and the opportunity to do live theatre. All experiences have helped build their confidence - which is very much needed for kids who may have social anxieties. We feel it's a positive, loving and safe environment. Yay for CYT!

CYT Chicago has done astounding amounts of good in the Chicagoland area. I personally know hundreds of people that would NOT be the people they are today without the existence of this company. Is it perfect? no. What company is? But for the 6 years I was heavily involved, I saw the beauty of the impact CYT had on the lives it touched, myself included. Some of my very best friends to this day are people I met because of CYT. I personally know many of the board members, some of the founders, and a huge amount of the staff and while imperfect, these people strive to have a company that exudes biblical beliefs while helping youth to grow in their gifting in the arts, while having fun and developing lifelong relationships. Every director and leader I encountered was incredibly fair and used wisdom with how they led. CYT is a safe environment to grow closer to Jesus, make deep friendships, have a blast learning theater and performing on a stage, and was one of the most inclusive, best communities I've ever been apart of. I know there have been some issues and I have personally experienced some, but when brought to the board they were dealt with seriously. Basically, I think CYT is an amazing place for children and teens and I highly recommend it.

Theater teaches kids confidence, poise, teamwork, empathy, tenacity, and storytelling. It grows their communication skills and their musical gifts. They gain a variety of friendships, mentors, and a deep sense of community. Both of my kids (currently 10 and 7) have loved participating in the CYT classes! My 10-year-old is currently a cast member in his 4th show. CYT has been a safe place for him to fall down on occasion, get back up, try again, and then soar. In addition, CYT nurtures the students spiritually, giving glory to God for all that they do. We are deeply grateful for CYT---the staff, the teachers, and the families!
