North Shore Dance & Theater is a nonprofit performing arts organization running one-week musical theater camps in Glenview for grades 1-6. Campers rehearse a condensed musical - 2026 titles include Grease, The Sound of Music and Willy Wonka - covering stage directions, voice projection, character development, blocking, movement, singing and costumes, and each session closes with a showcase to which every performer may invite two guests. Camps meet Monday-Friday 9am-3pm at Glenview United Methodist Church, which is handicap accessible with free parking; a three-day Triple Threat & Audition Prep session is also offered. Campers bring their own snack, lunch, water bottle and dance shoes.

While everyone made a real commitment to rehearsal & producing a fantastic performance, she had a ton of fun and made some wonderful friends, both younger kids & contemporaries, during the process. So much so that her younger brother joined her for the next production and had a similar positive experience. Both kids learned about responsibility, commitment, getting over nerves and helping each other out (in front of a live audience) while having a blast.
