City Kid Theatre runs one-week summer theatre camps for children ages 3-12 at its studio on Church Street in Glenview, drawing families from across Chicago's North Shore. Campers learn the basics of acting, choreography and collaborative story development, rehearsing a different show each week -- 2026 titles include Annie, 101 Dalmatians, Wicked, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown and Little Mermaid -- and perform it for family on the final day, with all costumes and props provided. Weeks run from early June through late August, and each week is offered as a morning half-day (9:30am-12:00pm, $325), an afternoon half-day (12:30pm-3:00pm, $325) or a full day (9:30am-3:00pm, $525); daily drop-in rates are available by phone. No prior theatre experience is required, and the company also runs a Counselor in Training program.

Their professionalism, coupled with their genuine enthusiasm for making the event memorable, created an inclusive and fun event for our children. Every child, regardless of their level of familiarity with performing arts (or the chosen song), was made to feel like a star. The kids really enjoyed the process of shooting the music video and fully embraced the Taylor Swift persona! And let's not forget the end result – the Taylor Swift music video created by the kids was nothing short of adorable. Kerry choreographed various scenes to the videos, capturing the individuality and creativity of our kids as well! This was such a unique and fun way to celebrate a birthday. Thank you!
