Music House is a performing-arts school founded in 1951 whose West Rogers Park studio at 2925 W. Devon Ave. runs Artist Playhouse Summer Camp for ages 4-11. Campers rotate daily through music, dance, theater and visual-art classes — forming rock bands, learning instruments such as ukulele, devising musical-theater scenes and making art — in groups capped at 10, with a new theme each week and a low-pressure Friday 4pm performance for families. Camp runs 9:00am-4:00pm at $495 per week ($395 for additional siblings), with early drop-off from 8:00am and late pickup to 5:00pm for $15 per day each; no experience is needed and campers bring their own nut-free lunch and snacks.

My two daughters (ages 13 and 11) have absolutely thrived in the musical theater classes at Music House. They have been given lots of opportunities to build dance, Singing and acting skills but more importantly they have built good friendships with their peers and trusted adults. They love how the teachers are able to adapt things to each of the children’s levels and the show’s productions are a joy to watch. The costumes and lighting are amazing and make everyone, no matter the role, part of a fabulous show.

I have a beginner violinist (11) and a beginner pianist (9) and we were looking for a supportive instructor on the far north side. Music House staff worked with us to find a convenient day and time. They offer a trial lesson and that was very helpful for us to settle on which instructor was the best fit. We met with two different instructors before making a decision. My kids love learning from Mr. Guillermo, he is their instructor for both instruments. Music house also offers rentals and repairs for rented violins. Very lucky to have found this location.

Music House School of Performing Arts has been an absolute blast for our family! My son has truly fallen in love with playing the violin, and so much of that is thanks to his incredible teachers, Ms. Victoria & Ms. Izzy. From the moment he walked through the door, the energy at Music House felt inspiring. The staff is upbeat (shout out to Ms. Rachel, Ms. Cynthia and Ms. Caroline!- they are super responsive with messages too), the atmosphere is creative, and every lesson feels like a celebration of music. My son is hearing impaired and has autism- and, he walks out of class smiling every single time—which, as a parent, says everything. Ms. Victoria & Ms. Izzy are phenomenal teachers. They are both talented, patient, and know exactly how to make learning violin feel exciting and empowering. They have a magical way of connecting with kids—they keep him engaged, laughing, and eager to practice (something I never thought I'd hear myself say!). His confidence has soared, and it's clear he’s learning from someone who truly loves teaching. What I love most about Music House is how they help kids grow not just as musicians, but as people. My son is learning discipline, creativity, and the joy of expressing himself—all in a fun, encouraging space. If you’re looking for a performing arts school where your child will feel supported, inspired, and excited to learn, Music House is the place. We absolutely love it, and we’re so grateful for everything it has brought into my son’s life.

100% This place is the BEST! We signed up right when my daughter was 3, she is 7 years old now and dancing up a storm. This place really fosters her creativity. She is so happy there. They offer free trial class so no immediate commitment which can be very helpful. This place Is a safe environment, that is inclusive of all humans, embraces diversity, and supports the arts in such a positive way. Check them out, you will be very happy about it.

We love the Music House! My kids have attended music lessons and camps here for five years, and the music school also offers violin lessons at our elementary school. The teachers are friendly and knowledgeable, and we love the inclusive environment. My kids have become more confident and skilled musicians thanks to the Music House's excellent programs. Thank you, Music House!
