Powered by GoogleCoaches are incredibly unprofessional. There was a clerical error that lead to a double booking of the field. Our organization is much smaller and we graciously let them use half of our field. Then they wanted to take 10-15ft of our field on top of it. We said no, it was a safety issue because our program is for younger kids with physical disabilities. He then proceeded to say (and go around to our teams parents individually) that they were going to be kicking balls in a goal right behind us despite the fact there were several other goals available. They acted incredibly petty and were extremely rude. This is not the first time they’ve tried to encroach on our field. There are better ways of handling what was clearly a clerical error.
This is club has been the worst experience not only for my child but for his entire team. We made the move to velocity thinking it would be a better experience than the smaller club we had been playing for , that was not the case at all. The coach they ga e is could not speak any English and could not communicate with any of our children. He was also not legally qualified to even coach on the level of our league as he was never carded. They also didn't assign our team a goalie. This was not a recreational league this was NPL which is one of the higher leagues for youth soccer. The director refused to reply to parents for months and it wasn't until the end of the fall when the the league started an investigation that he did. Now this team has had to move back in status that the coach was replaced. Now the stories are coming out about similar situations last season. I strongly recommend staying away from this club. They are not interested in the children they mentor, they are however interested in $$. If you don't really care about development and just want to play lower rec soccer it might be different. At the upper level this club frankly is a money farm. They have lost the leadership and lare losing coaches at an alarming rate. They have broken every promise that they made to players and parent, all while charging a premium amount of cash. Both Barrie and Dewan will lie and play the I had no idea card when caught up in these lies.
my kid switched over from NCFC classic to velocity back in 2021 i believe and it really helped grow her confidence and become such a better player! she went from crying to going to practice from actually enjoying the sport she loves. however, it is only made in 2018 so it is unorganized they don’t have a dedicated practice location or the top tier levels like ECNL or GA. the coaches are fantastic but also if your not at the top team you mostly just stay there on your team unless the whole team moves.
I couldn’t speak more highly of this wonderful soccer club that has become family. My son Jaxon started playing here five years ago at the age of 7 (U8). He’s now in U12 playing with many of the same boys that started with him years ago. What attracted us to the program was the quality of coaching that we saw at a summer camp. We got everything we were hoping for and then some. Carolina Velocity and their amazing coaches have gone above and beyond to care for my little guy. They’ve taught him the great game of soccer. They’ve instilled the importance of sportsmanship. And they’ve helped him learn the valuable lessons of teamwork over these many years. I’m grateful that we learned about Carolina Velocity FC many years ago. He’s turned into one heck of a little baller. And I’m excited about the many years we have left to continue to enjoy watching my son play this great game.
Our daughter switched to Velocity a year ago and it is one of the best decisions she has ever made. Her growth has been significant both in terms of skills but also confidence. The coaching staff is world class. The club environment is welcoming, supportive and transparent. She’s never been happier playing the sport she loves.
