Maine is ideal weather for summer camp, no humidity and repreive of the heat of the rest of the country. Wekeela is a nice place where kids can be tech-free, make friends from around the country and world, while learning some independence. Our daughter enjoyed her experience, but starting after 8th grade wasn't ideal for her, but my son beginning in grade 5 was an amazing experience. He loves the sports and water activities and just having something to do all day during the boring weeks of summer. He returns calm and more self confident! It's great to type/email the campers and get handwritten notes back in your inbox and see photos posted illustrating their fun experiences, on and off of campus.

My daughter has attended Wekeela for the last five years and will attend this year for her sixth year. Our experience has been exceptional, and although it's challenging to have her away during the summer, the experience she's had is truly special. Wekeela truly is heaven on earth. We were lucky enough to find this incredible camp back in 2017. Since then not a single summer has passed that one, or all, of our children have not been up there. Lori and Ephram treat our children as they would their own. Their love for the campers cannot be understated. And their own children have gown up now and work there as well. It is a family run operation and they all have so much heart. This amazing place has given so much to our family and - to this day - every one of our three kids tell us Wekeela is their favorite place to be.

This bucolic camp nestled in the beautiful hills of Maine along a gorgeous lake is the perfect setting for your child to learn teamwork, build confidence, and participate in land and water sports with a team of staff that take great care of their staff and campers. Our child is still telling stories almost a month after he has returned home!
