What an amazing place to get married! My wife and I had such an incredible weekend here. We loved being able to spend so much time with our loved ones, since they live all over the country. Our families and friends had a great time with all of the activities that camp provided. The canoes and kayaks were a huge hit, along with all the sports, especially pickle ball! The scenery is beautiful and made for some amazing photos. Becky was super helpful during the planning process, and answered more questions than I can count. The cabins and cottages were adorable and comfortable. The property is small enough that even our less mobile relatives could mostly walk everywhere, although there are also service roads that we were able to drive those folks around on at night. We had a magical weekend, and we hope to return to Kingsley Pines in the future to relive the memories.

Our family has attended Kingsley Pines family camp since 2011, and my daughter began going there for kids camp 2 summers ago. We have LOVED it. Family camp has always been the entire family's favorite week of the year, and that has been true from the pre-school years all the way through high school. I am extremely impressed by the consistency of the quality of the counselors from year to year. We must have seen a few hundred over the years, so KP must have a great way to screen new hires and to train them to get the high quality they do, and so consistently. Regardless of their age, number of years at KP, what country they are from, etc etc, the counselors all have an amazing ability to be crazy fun and silly and also to share their big hearts and compassion and look out for every kid. I have been particularly impressed by how comfortable my children have felt at KP, especially in their awkward, vulnerable early teen years. I credit the counselors with creating a welcoming, supportive environment. Our whole family strongly recommends KP!

Our family has attended Family Camp since 2015, and both of our sons have attended camp at Kingsley Pines for multiple years. Our experience this year was just as amazing as every other year we have been a part of the KP family. "Consistently excellent" is the phrase we've used for years. From the location on a pristine lake, to the amazing staff to the creative and wonderful activities, we've been impressed every year. Our kids attended several different camps before we discovered KP and none can even remotely compare. Kingsley Pines has a special place in our hearts for a very good reason. KP is the best!

Our daughter spent 2 weeks at KP camp this year after having a blast there last summer. She unfortunately had a terrible experience this year with bullying in the cabin which was not addressed despite her complaining multiple times and having mean comments witnessed by the counselors. She had a witnessed panic attack for which she went to the nurse and she cried much of the two weeks--very unusual for a child who has not had a single problem at any other camp she has attended--including KP last year. We discussed this with the directors in the middle of her two weeks after we heard from her and sent an email asking for this to be looked at as it seemed like possible bullying. They acknowledged that she had complained about cabin mates being mean but hadn't addressed it because they thought she was just homesick. Even if they didn't believe what she told them, we would have hoped that after our conversation with them and after multiple complaints from our daughter, there should have at least been conversations with everyone in the cabin about treating each other with kindness and the cabin should have been monitored more closely. However, it was not addressed at all and we were told that they looked into it and everything seemed fine. She came home and has been upset and crying about how she was treated--told that she smelled, that she wasn't invited to activities that the cabin was participating in, urged to fist fight with the other girls to "prove" that she could win, told that she was ugly and had a terrible sense of style, etc etc. Our very independent, strong girl said that the mean comments were so constant that she gave up trying to fight back. Some of what she says happened was in front of the counselor who didn't address it which is appalling to hear. I am not one to ever post bad reviews online, but I think this is helpful for parents to hear before they register their children for this camp. I have spoken with the director who says that they didn't know about it until the last day--which is not true as we had discussions and an email asking them to look into bullying about half way through her time there. He said that perhaps it could have been handled differently but had no concrete plan or way to make things better. Although the activities are wonderful and the camp can be a great experience if everything goes well, they don't have a good protocol for addressing bullying which can be devastating to kids who feel that they are "stuck" there with no one to turn to.

We spent three years at Kingsley Pines Camp as a family for family camp (yeah week 2 people!) and then our daughter attended for three weeks each summer, last year and this year, aged 14 and 15. As a family camp it was an excellent vacation experience. Good food, good activities, nice accommodations, friendly staff, friendly fellow campers. We really loved it. As parents sending our kid to sleepaway camp, we were glad to know more about Kingsley Pines before we sent her, because we trusted that she would have a good time there and would be well cared for. I think that they hire excellent staff, and that is a key to a great experience. Another key is the fact that the campers have no access to devices the whole time they are there. So they learn to rely on themselves, along with the other campers and the staff, to figure out how to handle the little challenges of everyday life and social interactions. It’s an incredible growth experience, aside from just being super fun.
