Powered by GoogleTripp Lake Camp has been in existence since 1911 on the beautiful Tripp Lake. The girls who come here each summer, many are coming to the camp their mothers, grandmother's, and great grandmother's came to in decades past. There is a deep family connection and family history here. It's a beautiful setting and an experience of a lifetime for these girls. As a nurse here I came to know many of the girls and they touched my heart in many ways and made me laugh. The woman I worked with made the experience even more fun and special. I am so glad I was able to meet them. And I have made friends I will keep in touch with.
We live on the UWS of Manhattan, and our 8 year old daughter just completed the two night “Rookie Weekend” at Tripp Lake. Overall takeaway: Tripp Lake Camp is a lovely and sweet place, with long-standing traditions, and filled with bright-eyed and confident girls having fun. There was a lot of positive energy, and purposeful intent. My wife and I are glad that we took the time to drive up to Maine, and grateful that our daughter had this positive experience/introduction to overnight camp. Leslie, Janet and Stacy were all incredibly warm and welcoming, and our daughter said that the counselors and other girls she met made her feel safe and at home. She also had a lot of fun, made a few friends, and was excited that she was able to participate in some of the Tripp Lake camp traditions (including lots of singing, and a play put on by some of the other campers). After picking her up Sunday morning, our daughter told us that she definitely wants to go to Tripp Lake for the full summer next year. We took her to visit a few other girls camps in Maine after finishing Rookie Weekend, and all were quite nice. We decided to stop by Tripp Lake again before driving home, and were fortunate to come during “sing song” practice, and to see a camp meal where the girls were all singing. We got a good sense of the camp spirit. Thank you again to Tripp Lake for giving our daughter such a wonderful first overnight camp experience.
I have been a counsellor at Tripp Lake Camp for 3 summers and it became a place that I quickly grew to love and became a home away from home. The love, friendship and appreciation from campers, counsellors and the administration is like no other which encourages you to be the best person you can be. It is a camp that offers a wide variety of activities from land sports, theatre, water sports, art shops and more and encourages you to try new activities. I highly recommend TLC to any camper, prospective parent or staff member wanting to have the summer of their lives.
Tripp Lake Camp has always been my home away from home. I was a camper for 9 summers and a counselor for 4. Tripp offers a wide range of activities and offers a daily schedule that allows every child to try a new sport or art shop. While at camp, I found a love for swim and photography which are two activities that I had not previously taken part in before my time at Tripp. The Promise Land offers a safe and encouraging environment where girls are removed from the pressures of the outside world. Tripp Lake's counselors are well respected and trained in their specific departments. As well, they are trained how to handle any negative situation that could arise. Admin has always been proactive in helping continue to keep the bubble of Tripp Lake a happy experience for all. Everyday I use the lessons and values of Tripp Lake and I remain appreciative of all that Tripp has taught me.
I came from the UK to coach tennis and ended up having the best summer of my life. Tripp Lake Camp embodies everything that I hoped camp would be. It teaches the kids real life values in an environment that is both secure and enthralling. I personally have never met a group of young individuals so engaging and driven as those that I taught during my time at TLC. I highly recommend this camp to any parent, child or prospective councilor, it really is as we say ''the promised land".
