I was disappointed to hear about how a recent incident at the Town Hall basketball court was handled. While I understand rules and policies need to be enforced, l hope the Parks and Recreation Department considers approaches that focus more on communication and education when minors are involved. From what I understand, some children were misinformed about snacks being available to take, and the situation resulted in police involvement and bans from the facility. It is especially unfortunate if children who were not directly involved were also affected. As a community member, I believe public recreational spaces should feel welcoming and supportive for local families. I also hope staff interactions with residents can reflect that same community-centered approach moving forward. Until clearer communication and policies are in place, I would encourage parents to make sure their children are supervised while using these facilities.

Went to the Kiddie Gym for an hour. Lots of different toys, a few slides, stacking toys. My son had fun. And the price is reasonable.

A favorite of our kids' even though it is small. This playground has something for everyone, including a covered picnic table. Just a short walk from the library, too.
