WildWise School is a nonprofit outdoor school in Kingston teaching naturalist, bushcraft and traditional 'crofter' skills, along with archery, on its Kingston campus and in Kitsap County parks. Its NatureQuest youth program uses story-driven live-action role play to frame skills learning; it also runs a K-8 forest school on the Oak Meadow curriculum, a once-weekly Woodsprites forest program for ages 3-7, and teen wilderness programs for ages 13-18 that pair outdoor adventure with personal growth.

In that time they have all become curious, confident and wry knowledgeable about nature and the world around us. They’ve developed trusting relationships with the mentors there. I often ask them what a plant or tree is, and they always seem to know more than me! Most importantly they have so much fun, and come home smiling and excited about what they learned. Natalia has a true passion and magic for helping kids learn important concepts in ways they will actually relate to. LARP has become a favorite pastime for our whole family, the group camp outs are a highlight for the year.

★Camille ParkerReally do your homework before sending your child to this camp. I regret overlooking the fact that there weren’t any reviews of this organization when my child attended one of their trips. That should have been a sign that things weren’t right. My daughter was coerced in unhealthy ways into staying with their 2 week camp, even though she and we as her parents were told that she could go home if needed. That coercion made her feel unsafe and was traumatic for her. This was several years ago, so I hope the leaders of this school know by now that the way to establish trust with others is to follow through with promises. Pretty basic, I think.

I am currently a summer camp mentor, over the years I have watched wildwise grow and change to suit its students. It is truly a magical place to go full of play, nature connection, valuable life skills and community. I cannot even put into words the amount wildeise has impacted my life for the better. I seriously recommend it!
