Wilderness Awareness School is a Duvall-based national nonprofit environmental-education organization (since 1983) offering summer day camps, overnight camps and expeditions for ages 6-18 across Seattle-area natural sites. Campers work in small clans to learn nature awareness, plant and animal knowledge, tracking, birding and survival skills.

Her apprentices are all amazing and knowledgeable as well, really good classes from them. The things you learn are objectively some of the best knowledge you can have regardless of what you do in life. I took the classes with the intent to put myself into wilderness with a minimum of resources but it's still just good for anyone just in case. Can't recommend WAS highly enough and have literally nothing but good memories of the short time I was there.
