If you’re a new dance mom trying to figure out competitions, rehearsals, costumes, hair, makeup, and why your kid suddenly needs seventeen different types of tights… I feel you. I had the same learning curve when my daughter started at Dance Connection. What saved me was the community. The moms, the teachers, Laurie, everyone. Nobody gatekeeps anything. Someone always answers your “is this the right bun?” texts at 9 PM. My daughter has been with DC since she was four and is now part of the Company program. One of the coolest parts is that she works with multiple teachers across ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and tap. Every teacher brings their own style and approach, and it creates this really dynamic, well-rounded learning environment. She gets pushed, supported, and inspired from all sides. I’ve seen her confidence grow year after year, and it’s not just about the steps. The teachers want them to feel comfortable on stage, learn presence, and be themselves. They’re building performers and humans, not just dancers. I absolutely love the performance opportunities they give the kids. My daughter has already danced at Red Sox games, the Harlem Globetrotters, and now the Disney Christmas Parade at Walt Disney World. As she gets older, she’ll dance at Celtics games and even more events. Laurie has built this amazing network of connections, and she uses it to give the kids experiences that go way beyond competition. They’re fun for the dancers, meaningful for the families, and honestly the kind of memories that stick forever. This is our first year doing a solo, and both Laurie and Crystal have been incredible with her. They’re funny, sweet, and they push her in all the right ways. Laurie runs the studio with a rare balance of structure, organization, discipline, and warmth. It’s a genuinely good environment, and I see the impact on my daughter every single season. We truly feel like part of the DC family, and I wouldn’t want her dancing anywhere else. We’re here for the long haul.

There are so many opportunities for the kids at the studio and experiences they get by dancing at Celtic games, Disney parades, etc. create lasting memories and friendships.
