I would say Carrollton is only ten minutes up the road and they offer more for less. As an adult who still participates in adult leauges, I've found that Flowermound and Lewisville may be a bit more orchestrated and also less expensive. Nevertheless, The Colony is not a bad choice for seasonal fun especially for beginners.
