Premises is clean and well maintained (especially restrooms and locker rooms). New and modern equipment at the gym area. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

I really like this YMCA. The instructors are very good for the group classes, and the locker rooms and bathrooms are very clean. The equipment is new, clean, and in good working order. Would recommend. Very reasonably priced.

I was approached today by this extremely short man who says he’s a trainer. He claims his manager says that they suspected I was secretly personal training out of this facility when I was, in fact, working out with a friend. I understand the concern, though, as the downfall to working out with any friends as an experienced corrective exercise coach is I’m suspected of funneling clients into a facility I don’t belong to because I may help the correct form or fix an issue on a move. Totally get it. However, the way this toddler-like being approached me was, unfortunately, something I witness small children execute much more effectively. He was quite condescending, which is to be expected from men I have to look down to at my already compromised height. But, it shouldn’t be in a professional setting. I let him know that I was not training my friend. We were workout buddies that he interrupted at the tail end of a workout to tell me I can’t train there. When I told him I was not, he stated his manager said it looks like it. Which, now brings up another concern because isn’t it a manager’s job to approach this situation? Why send in the man child with no social skills? Anyway, when I mentioned this wasn’t what I was doing, he said he assumed I was because he is a liar and goes in to other gyms to break policy for the people he trains. 1. Dumbest thing you could’ve said to prove a point. 2. One of the two of us is a liar and it wasn’t me. Maybe work on your approach because another staff member did approach us to let us know that at first he could see why it seemed this way. But, he could definitely tell we were working out. But, to be mindful because that isn’t allowed in this facility. Delivery matters. Please make the short king knowledgeable on that. I didn’t get his name. But he was there today around 12:30-1:00 pm training REALLY hard back there sitting on the box watching me and my friend “train.” You guys need to find him something to do because when we left, he was doing the same thing. Just on the front couch. OUCH 🫢😂

In the past gave this a 5 , however they changed the schedule where the basketball court seems to always be closed for pickle ball. They’ve done this at peak hours when kids, teens and adults constantly walk to the court only to be disappointed. Meanwhile, half the pickle ball nets are empty, and often it’s just the membership director playing on one net, which makes it seem like he’s just making the schedule to fit what he wants rather than meet the demands of clients. Please LHYMCA, at least alternate, make pickle ball only half court, or reduce it from 3 hours. Going 3 hours a day and 9-12 On Saturday, one of the peak times, cuts out countless people who joined so they could play basketball. The demand for basketball at this time far outweighs pickleball, and they need to change the schedule accordingly, or give discounts to us who signed up thinking they’d be able to play basketball at reasonable times.
