Powered by Google9 of 10 score. What I like about JER Chilton YMCA is the location, the staff is very friendly and helpful, the equipment is well maintained, there is a great child watch facility and their sports program is well run. Only two things that could use improvement are 1) the lack of a midday (1-4pm), Friday & Saturday afternoon childwatch program and 2) the high frequency of downtime of a very popular machine, the abduction/adduction leg machine. There should be a second machine on property because of the queues and the unavailability when the machine is broken. Address these issues for a perfect score of 10.
I have had a great experience at this location. We come once a week to swim and everyone is always nice, parking is good. Bathrooms are typically pretty clean. My only complaint is that every time we are there, the family restrooms are always being cleaned. I understand they are on some sort of schedule but when you have kids with you and everyone needs to change it's nice to have access to those restrooms. Especially during the family swim times.
Frustrating in-person experience – Poor customer service I had a very disappointing visit to this sports and pool facility. I came in person hoping to get some information, but the staff member at the front desk acted as if I were a bother. They spoke to me in a rushed manner and didn't take a single moment to explain how things work here. Their only answer was to tell me to "look it up online." If I wanted to look it up online, I wouldn't have wasted my time coming here. It feels like the staff is only there to scan passes at the entrance and get it over with, rather than actually assisting the public. They need to hire better-trained people who are truly dedicated to customer service and willing to explain things to visitors.
Love this place, staff and amenities are next level. Everyone is so kind and helpful. Great place for kids' swim lessons. EDIT for emphasis: I would have a year round membership if they would JUST bring back ONE of the racquetball courts. PLEASE! Just one, nowhere else in Rockwall county has them. I'm begging you, move the cycling machines somewhere else and reclaim that space in the name of fun!
Our family visits the Y multiple times a week. The youth swim program has great coaches that care about swimmers and their families. The weekly workout classes have instructors that thoughtfully plan great workouts! The employees and the other guests are friendly and welcoming.
