Joined primarily for pool access and have been extremely disappointed. I took off work early to bring my young children to scheduled family swim at 5pm on Friday, only to be told the pool was unavailable due to makeup classes. No notice was provided, staff could not point to any written policy, and the YMCA’s own schedule says makeup classes are on Fridays from 6–8 PM. The schedule also does not say that makeup classes close the entire pool to members. Very frustrating experience and not what was represented when we joined. The pool schedule is ridiculous, it only assign 15mins for family swim on Monday and Wednesday evening.

Who knew asking for someone’s first name was such a bad things. I even explained all I wanted to do was acknowledge her by her first name so I could introduce myself and provide her my name to try and make it a little more personal and then when I call back and ask for her name again she proceeds to hang up in my face. The previous 3 offices I called before I got the correct number all said their greeting and included their name so I didn’t have to ask.

Coach Aleks has such talent with the kids, focusing on skills and discipline in the water but all while making it fun for them to learn not only technique but swim safety too. My son took to her coaching style so well that when he decided he wanted to join swim team, we looked to her for private lesson coaching to get him ready for tryouts. We also do private lessons with Coach Aleks to supplement team practice when my son needs some extra one-on-one time to focus on specific skills. In general, I like that the kids are grouped by skill level and that the groups are small enough that each kiddo gets lots of participation time while still having rest time to not become exhausted in the pool. I also like that dices are taught early on at level 3&4 from the wall and from the block. Seeing the littlest swimmers take to the water is so cute! The instructors work hard to get them used to the water, overcome their fears, and have fun in the pool.

My friends and I visited this YMCA for the first time, intending to check it out. However, we ended up working out and taking a swim. I highly recommend joining the YMCA over other local facilities because it’s family-oriented.

My son had a wonderful experience with the Swim Team at Coppell Family YMCA! The coaches were truly dedicated and supportive, helping each swimmer improve their technique and build confidence in the water. The team atmosphere was inclusive and motivating, fostering a strong sense of community and teamwork. Additionally, the facilities were well-maintained, providing a great environment for training and competitions. Overall, it was an enriching experience that combined fitness, fun, and friendship.
