Huffhines Recreation Center
City of Richardson Parks & Recreation Department · Private
Huffhines Recreation Center is a City of Richardson facility (200 N. Plano Rd) that runs week-long summer mini camps for ages 5-15, with topics rotating weekly across science, art, cooking, dance, STEAM, LEGO, sports and magic. One indoor option for ages 6-10 runs afternoons (1-5pm, roughly $98/week), so most sessions are half-day rather than full workday coverage.

Powered by GoogleI went to line dancing on Thursday! The instructor was great and the facility is gorgeous great walking trails, pond, softball field. 😘
Good place with full size gym, gym can be crowded and workout area is small but plenty of availability. Update: Coach MJ runs very good basketball clinics here. He really pushes the kids the right way.
Day by day this recreation center is getting worse. For starters the front staff (particularly short black woman) always seem very rude and demanding. Then the basketball gym schedule is getting worse every month. My assumption is they're losing money and need to rent out the basketball gym (for pickleball tournaments and private basketball training) to keep the recreation center running because it HAS to be running out of money.
Absolutely love the dance program at this location. I have a daughter in the tap/ballet class and she absolutely loves going each week. The staff is amazing and they also incorporate helpers who assist in the class (which are also students but older). Really love this as an option for beginning before she moves up to a professional studio.
Michelle, who is one of the staff, was wonderful in answering all my questions and walking me through everything that the facility had to offer! The facility looks brand new and maintained extremely well! And the annual adult membership is just $70 for Richardson residence! Lots of great community events.
