Spring Valley Athletic Association (SVAA) is a nonprofit, volunteer-run youth sports organization serving the RISD and North Dallas area since 1968. It offers recreational football, flag football, basketball, baseball and volleyball for more than 4,000 boys and girls in grades K-12, with no tryouts and a focus on teamwork and sportsmanship. It runs seasonal recreational leagues rather than a summer camp.

★Dianne SuprunPractice fields are routinely given away without notice so that other teams can play. Practice fields are double-booked. Umpires are ill-trained and have been seen on their cell phones taking calls during live games. Poor communication from league about schedule changes. The commissioner is also the coach of a team in the league, so there is a conflict of interest when it comes to calls on the field, schedule preferences, etc. Questions are always answered with "no."
★★Paul WetheringtonMy son played 1st grade flag football this year and I’ve been a bit disappointed in SVAA and how they determine appropriate age groups to play with. Most of the kids on his team are typical 6-7 year old boys in first grade, but a few of the teams have kids one or two years older playing in the same division. The age gap between 6 and 8 is pretty big and even though it is flag, there is still some contact and collisions. My concern is the size difference between a 6 year old and an 8 year old. Right now I would not recommend SVAA flag football without changes occurring.
