Powered by GoogleI have been a member for 3 years and love the staff and the classes. Pool etc I have brought up multiple complaints about members speeding outside. More then once I had to jump out of the way as members come in to drop off kids etc and treat that lane like Indianapolis speedway. Its dangerous and should be enforced to slow down. Why can't the ymca enforce giving tickets or take this more seriously? I am very disappointed in this.
I've always loved the water aerobics, EGYM & eliptical, but I've recently added cycling & tried both barre & Bodypump. The variety is great & motivates me to work out.
Love the accessibility of the equipment here, my only gripe are the personal trainers. I get that clientele for PTs are typically newer gym goers, but you can introduce them to new excersises and routines without taking every piece of equipment in your vicinity and not letting anyone use it for an hour. I understand that youre trying to build comfort with the client, but chatting with them for 45 minutes between sets on exclusive equipment is a major drag on those who want to get a workout in. Introduce them to the excersise, get them through their required sets based on your notes, and move on. I should not have to wait an hour for a piece of equipment being used by the same person.
The member service team is absolutely outstanding. Professional, friendly, competent, helpful and omnipresent. From first impression when you arrive to last impression when you leave. Always a positive experience. The most important people in the organization. I and others very much appreciate them.
I taught myself how to swim when I was 41 years old in the YMCA pool in Easton, MA. My chiropractor told me I was muscle-bound and that I needed to swim to elongate my muscles. For two years, every morning before work, I enjoyed that swim time. Fast forward to today, and at age 69, I am still an avid swimmer, and after a long road of health challenges, my appreciation for the Emilson SSYMCA pool is bigger than big, greater than great. There is no other place like the Olympic pool at Emilson SSYMCA! Thank you to every lifeguard and staff member who makes it possible for me to continue my swimming practice in 2026. I am so blessed.
