We have MIT Summer day camp to thank for both of my kids (6 and 8 year old) being able to swim! It took just 1 week of camp for them to go from just bobbing to being able to be comfortable with the front crawl and just generally feeling good in the water. The camp offers easy pick up and drop off for busy working parents in Boston/Cambridge and amazingly long hours 9am-4pm for the regular day. I don't know many camps that do that. They also offer early drop off and late stay if you need it. They counselors are top notch, always making things fun from the moment we arrive which is good for campers that are a little nervous trying something new.
