Powered by GoogleTaking classes with Alexandra has helped me understand color, technique, and most importantly how to have fun with painting! Classes are not overwhelmingly large, so you don’t feel like you get lost. Instead, there is lots of personalized teaching based on the types of projects you want to do mixed in with important instruction. Alexandra is extremely knowledgeable about art and it shows through in her work with students. I will continue taking classes as long as I can and would highly recommend taking a course (or a few!) to anyone wanting to improve their art.
Alexandra was such a delight to be around. Her compassion for teaching was truly contagious and my mom and I really enjoyed our time with her in her collage class. She was warm, patient, and encouraging. You can really tell how much she cares about both her art and her students. We left feeling happy and inspired by the work we did with her. I highly recommend her class to anyone considering it! We can’t wait to come back to see her and do water coloring!!
My creative daughter (11) has joined Alexandra's classes for a year. I am impressed with how many techniques she has tried, and how varied the course has been. Alexandra is a dedicated and serious artist - I love how the kids learn directly from someone like her. The classes take place in her beautiful and inspiring studio!
Alexandra has created something truly rare in an art school — a space that feels both open and deeply grounded. She’s incredibly open-minded, but also has this rich knowledge of materials and art history that helps guide you without ever boxing you in. The atmosphere of her studio is beautiful: full of light, surrounded by books, and somehow instantly calming. What I appreciate most is the way Alexandra gives her full, undivided attention. She really sees you. She’s a caring, inspiring teacher, and being in her space makes you want to explore, take risks, and grow.
My husband and I loved our painting class with Alexandra. She guided us through the steps to create our paintings but also let us make lots of choices. She helped us figure out how to mix colors. It was a very enjoyable experience. We hope to come back for another class.
