Camp WA WA Segowea is a nonprofit overnight camp on 400+ acres in the Berkshire Mountains at Southfield, offering traditional camp activities: fireside sing-alongs, outdoor games, crafts, swimming and canoeing, with Teen Camp adding multi-day Appalachian Trail hikes and day excursions. Overnight sessions run two weeks (Sunday to Friday) for Base Camp ages 7-13 and Teen Camp ages 13-16, with a one-week Rookie option and a four-week Counselor-in-Training track for ages 14-16. A one-week day camp for ages 7-12 runs 9:00 AM to 4:15 PM with lunch included, and Soft Start is a 2-night stay for ages 10-12 with a 10:2 camper-to-counselor ratio, designed for children with higher sensory needs, autism or developmental disabilities. The camp is ACA-accredited and run by the volunteer-led nonprofit Smith Park.

★★★★tECHNO tODDMy parents were good friends with the Barmack family, who used to run Camp WaWa about forty years ago. That being said, I Went to Camp Wawa back in the early 80's and I can say that even as a socially awkward kid, I had a good time, in fact some of my only really good childhood memories while away from my parents. One thing I notice is that the activities for the campers these days are LAME, LAME, LAME!!. We had Sailing, Archery, Photography, Riflery (.22 cal bolt action & semi- automatic), Capture the Flag, and MUCH MORE!!. Some of these activities also teach personal responsibility. God forbid they put the youth on a path to teach self defense or even national defense... Especially in the corrupt as heck state that Massachusetts has evolved into. It's sad to see a once vibrant summer camp that had a diverse array of activities has devolved into a place to drop off and babysit your kids for two weeks as a pseudo summer camp that has little to offer & teaches them to continue teaching NOTHING!...

I only wish I had known about the camp years earlier when I was much younger because that summer of 89 is when I aged out. Being that I lived in New York it would’ve been much too far for me to travel to be a camp counselor. It brings me joy to see that the camp is still operational over 30 years later.

★★★★★Cullen WalshI personally love this camp i have had the best times of my life here and I have only been there two times, if you want to get out in nature this is the place to go it is the best you can get if you want to be close to nature because there are no windows just screens separating you from nature. You can go boring and fishing and hiking and have so much fun here. I love this camp.
