The Boys & Girls Club of the Berkshires runs Camp Russell, a summer day camp on more than 200 lakefront acres at Richmond Shores. Day Camp and Sports Camp campers follow age-grouped daily schedules covering swimming, sailing, water skiing, tubing and kayaking, nature adventures, arts and crafts, animal care, fishing, gardening, hiking, field trips and team games; a Leader-In-Training track serves teens entering grades 9-10 and a long-running Recreational Therapy program serves individuals with an IEP ages 6 to 22. Camp runs weekly from June through August with 250-380 campers a week; parent drop-off at Camp Russell is 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., bus routes run from the Pittsfield clubhouse (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.), lunch is provided, and extended-care options run 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for an added fee. Club membership plus weekly registration are required, and a financial aid application is posted.

On an early January day where the outside temperature was in the low 20s, it was very cold inside the rink. Dress warmly - including gloves - whether you are spectating, coaching, or on the ice for free skate. The rink is on the third floor, BTW, so come prepared to climb some stairs.
