Shibley Day Camp is a traditional summer day camp for girls and boys ages 3-13 on a 20+ acre wooded campus in Roslyn Heights, in northern Nassau County. Campers swim twice a day, including daily American Red Cross instruction across four heated pools, and take part in a balanced mix of athletics, arts, adventure, and science. A separate junior camp and mini-day option serve the youngest campers (ages 3-6), with bus service from Nassau, Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn.

Powered by GoogleOur 5th grade class recently had their senior trip at Shibley Day Camp, and it was an unforgettable experience. Every detail was thoughtfully planned and well organized. The activities were engaging, exciting, and encouraged plenty of outdoor fun. The staff did a wonderful job creating a safe, welcoming, and energetic environment where every child felt included and had a great time. It was the perfect way to celebrate the end of elementary school, and our class is still talking about it! Thank you to everyone at Shibley Day Camp for providing such a memorable experience.
I had the pleasure of working with the team to create an unforgettable senior trip for my students in Queens. Our kids got a taste of the camp experience for one unforgettable day. Each class had two counselors who taught them games and played along with them. The kids learned new games, did crafts, and challenged themselves on the adventure course. Heath, Melissa, and Danny were a pleasure to work with and helped troubleshoot any possible unforeseen circumstances. I highly recommend Shibley for any special event.
Shibley is the greatest camp and I couldn’t recommend it more! I sent my 2.5 year old daughter there and she had the best summer. The staff and directors truly love the kids and treat them as their own. My daughter came home so happy every day and couldn’t wait to go back the next day! The activities are so much fun and catered to meet the needs of all age groups. The special events, such as Green Day and Olympics, had my daughter jumping out of her crib so she can get to camp faster! We can’t wait for next summer.
I knew from the moment I found out I was pregnant that my son would be a camper at Shibley as soon as he was old enough since I was a camper there as a child and have the most fond memories of camp. Summer 2025 was his first summer in nursery and sending him as soon as he could go was the best decision. The camp has a wide array of activities and my son has loved trying all of them. When he gets off the bus (which he absolutely loves riding) he cannot stop talking about his day! And he's even trying foods he never would have tried before! Most importantly, the staff at Shibley take such good care of all the children. They treat the children like their own - they are warm, caring, and provide encouragement and comfort. The swim instruction is also top notch. At 3.5, my son is already starting to swim on his own and has made phenomenal progress in the pool. I cannot recommend Shibley Day Camp enough! I just registered my son for summer 2026 and cannot wait to watch him grow, learn and make more new friends as he continues this camp journey!
This was my daughter's first year at Shibley Day Camp after three years at our neighborhood preschool's summer program. Both she and I were nervous about the transition, but it turned out to be the best decision I could have made! Heath, the camp director, is incredibly friendly and welcoming. You can genuinely tell that everyone who works there has a true love for kids and what they do. The staff's passion really shows in how they interact with the campers. We will definitely be returning next summer!
