Summer with Friends is the day camp run by Friends Academy, a Quaker independent school on a 65-acre campus in Locust Valley, open to children from age 3 through rising grade 10 whether or not they attend the school. Campers are grouped as Mini Day and full-day Explorers (age 3 to grade 2), Pathfinders (grades 3-4) and Trailblazers (grades 5-8), with a Jr. Counselor leadership programme for grades 9-10. Explorers get theme-based activities, daily sports and American Red Cross swim instruction plus two specialty classes a week; Trailblazers pick two of more than twenty specialty programmes each week, from multi-sports and app building to robotics, cooking and musical theatre, with course capacity of 16. Daily recreational swim uses three pools with waterslides, and swim lessons, lunch, snacks, supplies and towels are included in tuition. The 2026 season runs June 29 to August 14, 9:30am-4:00pm, and families register only for the weeks they want. A Sunrise Program covers 7:30-9:15am for $80 a week, and transportation costs $200 per week per family.
