Since you're writing for Camp Alvernia, focusing on its long history of community and its beautiful setting on Centerport Harbor really adds a nice touch. Here is a tailored review for them:"We had an incredible experience at Camp Alvernia! What stands out most is how genuinely inclusive the environment is. The staff does a phenomenal job of making every child feel welcome and like they truly belong to the Alvernia family from day one.The activities are fantastic—my camper especially loved the boating and swimming on the bay—but it’s the sense of kindness and community that really sets this place apart. It is such a relief to find a camp that values every individual and creates such a positive, supportive atmosphere.

My son has been attending this camp for many years, and as someone who used to work at a summer camp (as did my husband; it's where we met), I can truly say this camp it outstanding. The high level of positive leadership trickles down to create an experience for children that captures the kind of magical summer camp usually reserved for sleepaway camp but is right here on Long Island. The grounds are like nowhere else - the pools and sports facilities, all surrounding by trees AND the Long Island sound. Highly recommend.

My kids have gone to Camp Alvernia for several summers now. They just absolutely love it! There is so much to do, amazing and kind counselors and just a real family atmosphere. If you’re thinking about it and are hesitating, don’t. Your kids will love it!!

My children have gone the last two summers for two-three weeks, we do not do the whole summer because we take vacations as well. My girls LOVE this camp! My 8 year old cries as the end of every year. They were lucky enough to have to same counselors last year and they remembered both my girls. I was worried when I started my younger one at five years old, but she loved it and didnt even wave good bye as she ran off. They do such a variety of activities and provide all the food. It is such a great camp and very well run. The communication is always great as well.

Amazing camp! It has a little bit of magic within. My son had a bit of a difficult year, and this place has healed his little heart! My son's camp counselor participates with the children doing activities during the day and is in college receiving his master's degree. Such a camaraderie among the campers and staff of Camp Alvernia. My son has such a close bond with his group and they work together like a team. The sailing on the Centerport Harbor is unmatched. The campers truly learn how to sail and I believe the 5th graders are able to obtain a sailing license. The camp is set in the forest and the campers walk to their various activities like arts and crafts, swimming (free swim & lessons), nature, gaga, various sports, tennis by an instructor, dance, and more activities than I can list. Fairly priced and includes lunch & sailing. My son talks about it often and can not wait to go back on the weekends!!! He has attended other well-known camps in the area, but this by far is his favorite! Camp Alvernia is a happy place & just epic! I'm beyond grateful for this place!
