Shady Trails Camp

Shady Trails is a day camp for children ages 5-14 on 27 wooded acres along Grand Traverse Bay between Omena and Northport, running through the month of July. Campers are grouped in age-based cabins with two or more counselors and build individual schedules from activities including kayaking, canoeing, swimming, tennis, soccer, basketball, disc golf, archery, a ropes course, art, crafts, cooking, music, performing arts, creative writing and nature. A family-style midday meal is served in the main lodge, with campers sharing table setup and clearing. Founded in 1932, it was for most of its history a speech therapy camp.
