Reach Programs

My daughter has been part of the Reach Club Volleyball program for the last three years. The first year was one of the first for the club but was an overall very positive experience as she played up a year but received a very good mix of instruction, expectation setting and overall fun. The second year she had a first time head coach and there were growing pains there but overall a fine experience. My issues are what is occurring right now. We signed up for a tried out for the team in June/July and made the commitment to this club locally after she made the team. You try out in the summer and the first games and full practices don’t start until January as the school teams compete in the fall. I received a job offer across country and accepted. I’ve agreed to pay the amount for this fall (no games and a couple practices a month) but the club is refusing to turn off my payments of over $250/month between now and June despite us moving 3k miles away in November. I think this is ridiculous and completely unreasonable. Now she may not be able to compete on another team as my budget will be used in a different time zone where she receives no training. This isn’t a case of moving locally or to another club. So much for doing this for the kids, right? My other daughters don’t have an issue getting a refund for a service/team we won’t be using. If you go with Reach, just know you better understand where you will be in 9-12 months from try-outs and they aren’t looking out for the players’ best interest and development.

The K-1st volleyball program was extremely underwhelming. The instructor (who is also the assistant director) was also very underwhelming as a coach. Practices did not start on time and the instructor had no prepared plan for practices. The player to instructor ratio was 15:1 during practices, so my daughter received very little instruction. One practice was double booked in a gym so it was canceled 5 minutes before it was supposed to start and a make up practice was never even mentioned. Overall, I was not impressed with this organization and will not be signing my daughter up for any other programs.

This year was our first time signing up for REACH summer camp, and my daughter absolutely loved it! The specialty classes were so much fun for her, and all of the teachers took great care of her. We look forward to signing up again next summer!

We were looking for a summer program for my daughter and found Reach. pick up and drop off was easy. My child had so much fun at all of the specialty camps. She came home happy and with stories to tell about fun with her friends, new recopies she wants to try at home, self made photography books and more! The field trips were varied and the communication from the coordinators was clear.

We just finished a basketball season with a middle school team and high school team. I love this program, there's not a lot of places you can sign up for that have this many games in one season for a low cost. It doesn't matter if you have a child that's new to the game or has some experience they do a great job evening out the teams. Because there a quiet a few games the kids have the opportunity to excel and grow into the game. The referees are amazing, helping the younger ones along the way and calling great games. The coaches do a great job and the Reno team handles the shot clock/score boards. At the end of the season you have playoffs and the energy and atmosphere all pick up during this time. Great job Reach and thank you for bringing a great program to Lake county and Clermont.
