Pine Beach Yacht Club has run a junior sailing program on the Toms River since 1975, when it started with 16 sailors, and it now runs June through August for children of all skill levels aged 6-17. Unusually for a shore yacht club, you do not need to be a PBYC member to register a child, so the program is open to the general public. The club also hosts junior regattas, including its No Tears Regatta.
