Powered by GoogleThe Park South Family YMCA has quickly become one of my favorite places to spend time. The moment you walk in, you can tell it’s a brand‑new facility — bright, clean, and thoughtfully designed. The pool is beautiful, and the fitness area has more equipment than I could ever use in one visit. There’s something here for every kind of activity level. They offer group exercise classes throughout the week, and the gym space is big enough for basketball, tennis, volleyball, and even pickleball. It’s nice to have so many options in one place. What I appreciate most is the sense of community. If you’re not in the mood to work out, you can relax in the breakroom, where people read, play games, or join in on craft activities. They’ve even hosted cooking classes. One of the highlights for me is the Bible study group — we’re currently studying the Book of Revelation, and everyone is welcome, no matter your level of experience. The YMCA also includes a daycare center, which is a wonderful addition for families. With new programs and activities being introduced all the time, it truly feels like a place that’s growing, welcoming, and full of life.
We absolutely love the Park South Family YMCA. From the moment we walk through the doors, the staff makes us feel like family. The welcome desk team is phenomenally warm, greets us with genuine smiles, and already knows me by name, which makes every visit start on such a positive note. As a parent, what truly sets this facility apart is their inclusivity and care. The aquatics team and lifeguards are incredibly attentive and sensitive to my neurodivergent son's needs. They create a safe, understanding environment that allows him to enjoy the water comfortably, giving me immense peace of mind. It is rare to find a place where every single staff member is this thoughtful, observant, and dedicated to making all families feel genuinely included. We are so grateful to have this YMCA as a core part of our community!
I needed assistance with getting my little brother (I'm a big in the big brother big sister organization) signed up for an orientation. I also needed help with the mind body app. I was greeted with a warm smile and made to feel like helping comes natural for the team! I truly appreciated the experience.
The new updated gym is beautiful! Lots of updated equipment. The cardio options aren’t as vast as other locations but there’s enough treadmills to use. Place for burpees and stretching. Lots of body weights and machines. They have a squat rack and hack machine that I love. Lockers to keep your stuff safe and secure. Outdoor playground and very nice pool to do laps in, or lounge in, when it’s open. Basketball court is nice. I love the new ymca.
**NEW BUILDING OPEN 06/16/25** The new building opened today and it is beautiful. The new building is equipped with a cardio section, free weights, indoor pool, seating area, classes, daycare, basketball ball court, showers, and all new equipment. Very exciting to have a third place for our community, which is frequently underfunded and overlooked. It appears the contractors are wrapping that last few things but the Y is open to get a good workout in. Highly recommend visiting our new Y!
